ဥစၥာမရွိဘဲ အစားမၾကဴးရာ။
ခြန္အားမရွိဘဲ အသတ္အပုတ္ မၾကိဳက္ရာ။
ပညာမရွိဘဲ စကားမ်ားစြာ မဆိုရာ။

Without wealth, be not excessive in eating.
Without strength, love not fighting.
Without learning, speak not too much.

မဖိတ္ေခၚဘဲ သူတစ္ပါး အိမ္သို႕ ၾကိမ္ဖန္မ်ားစြာ မသြားရာ။
သူမေမးဘဲ မ်ားစြာ မေျပာရာ။
မိမိဂုဏ္ကို ထုတ္ေဖာ္ ၀ါၾကြားပလႊားျခင္း မျပဳရာ ။ (ကိုယ့္ဂုဏ္ကိုယ္ေဖာ္ မသူေတာ္)

Don't visit another's house frequently without being invited.
Don't talk too much without being asked.
Don't extol and boast of oneself.
(Don't blow one's own trumpet.)

ေရမျပည့္ေသာ အိုးသည္ ေဘာင္ဘင္ ခတ္တတ္၏။
ပညာနည္းေသာ သူသည္ ထင္ရွားျပတတ္၏။

A half-empty vessel makes more sound.
A person not fully educated tends to show off.

သမုဒၵရာသည္ ေရ၌ မေရာင့္ရဲ။
မ်က္စိသည္ ခ်စ္ေသာသူကို ျမင္ျခင္း၌ မေရာင့္ရဲ။
ပညာရွိသည္ စကားေကာင္း၌ မေရာင့္ရဲ။

The ocean is not contented in receiving water.
The eye is not contented in seeing the beloved.
The wise is not contented in good speech.
အင္အားၾကီးမားေသာ အမိုက္ရင္ အေပါင္းကို တစ္ေယာက္အားျဖင့္ မေအာင္ႏိုင္ေသာ္လည္း ေပါင္းစုခိုင္က်ည္ ညီညြတ္သည္ရွိေသာ္ ေအာင္ႏိုင္ရာ၏
ျမက္တစ္ပင္တည္း အခ်ည္းႏွီးျဖစ္ေသာ္လည္း စုေပါင္း၍ က်စ္အပ္သည္ရွိေသာ္ ထိုျမက္လြန္ၾကိဳးသည္ ခြန္အားၾကီးေသာ ဆင္ေျပာင္ၾကီးကိုပင္ ခ်ည္ႏိုင္စြမ္း သကဲ့သို႕တည္း။
Strong, bad elements cannot be overcome single-handed but by united action.
A blade of garss is unsubstantial, but many blades made into a rope can bring the strength to tie an elephant.
ေလကြယ္ေထာင့္ရာ အရပ္၌ မီးေတာက္သည္ ၾကီးထြားမရွိ ျငိမ္းေလဘိသကဲ့သို႕ သစၥေစာင့္ျမဲ သူရဲဗိုလ္ပါတို႕၏ အားေပး ေထာက္ကူမရခဲ့မူ ျပည့္ရွင္မင္း၏ တန္ခိုးၾသဇာ အရွိန္အ၀ါသည္ အဘယ္မွာလွ်င္ ၾကီးထြားေအာင္ျမင္ ရန္ကင္းစင္ေအာင္ ျပဳႏိုင္ပါမည္နည္း။
Just as a flame cannot thrive but die in a place deprived of wind, a ruler without the backing of faithful retinue cannot cause success and prosperity.
အရွင္သခင္ကိုတု၍ မည္သည့္အမႈကိုမွ် ဂုဏ္တုဂုဏ္ၿပိဳင္ မျပဳအပ္
၀တ္စားဆင္ယင္ အလွျပင္ျခင္း၌ လည္းေကာင္း ၊ စည္းအိမ္ခ်မ္းသာ ခံစားရာ၌ လည္းေကာင္း အတူမျပဳရာ။

No Competition in pride with a master should be attempted.
No similarity or equality of attire and wealth should be attempted.
သူယုတ္မာကို အခ်စ္မလြန္ရာ။
သူယုတ္မာသည္ ထိပ္တင္ေခါင္းရြက္ ေျမႇာက္စားခံရေသာ္လည္း မေခ်မငံ ဆူဆူညံညံ ျပဳတတ္၏။
Do not love the unvirtuous too much.
Even though praised highly, the wicked may act impolitely and boisterously.

ေႁမြသည္ အမ်က္လြန္၏။
ေႁမြထက္ သူယုတ္မာသည္ ပို၍ အမ်က္လြန္၏။
ေႁမြကို မႏၱာန္ေဆးဝါးျဖင့္ ၿငိမ္းေစႏုိင္ေသာ္လည္း သူယုတ္မာကို ၿငိမ္းေစႏုိင္သည့္ ေဆးမရွိေခ်။
The snake is extreme in anger.
The wicked is more furious than the snake.
Though the snake can be subdued by charm and drugs, there is no remedy for subduing of the wicked.

မိမိမုိက္လ်က္ မုိက္မွန္းသိသူကို ပညာရွိဟု ဆုိအပ္၏။
မိမိမုိက္လ်က္ ပညာရွိဟု အထင္ေရာက္သူကိုမူ သူမုိက္ဟု ဆုိအပ္၏။
One who knows himself of his foolishness, may be said to be the wise.
One who thinks of himself as the wise even though he is foolish may be said to be the foolish.

သူမုိက္သည္ သူျပဳခဲ့ေသာ မေကာင္းမႈမ်ား အက်ိဳးမေပးေသးသမွ် အကုသုိလ္ကို ပ်ားရည္ဟု ေတြးထင္တတ္၏။
သူျပဳေသာမေကာင္းမႈေၾကာင့္ ဆုိးက်ိဳးမ်ား က်ေရာက္ခ်ိန္တြင္မူကား ဆင္းရဲဒုကၡ ေရာက္ရေတာ့၏။
The foolish thinks his evil deeds as honey so long as there occurs no due results for his evil deeds.
When bad results occured due to his evil deeds, then he gets into trouble.

လူမုိက္သည္ ခြန္အားရွိလွ်င္ သူတစ္ပါး ဥစၥာကို အႏုိင္အထက္ လုယူတတ္၏။
ပညာနည္းေသာ ထုိသူမိုက္သည္ ေသလြန္ၿပီးေသာ္ ငရဲသို႔ ေရာက္ရ၏။
The fool, if he is stronger, may plunder others possessions by force.
After death that fool of less knowledge lands in hell.
အိမ္ယာေထာင္ထား အၾကင္ေယာက်ာ္းသည္ ပ်င္းရိမူမေကာင္း။
ရဟန္းသည္ ကိုယ္ႏႈတ္နွလံုးကို ေစာင့္ထိန္းျခင္းမရွိမူ မေကာင္း။
မင္းအစိုးရသည္ မဆင္မျခင္ ျပဳေလ့ရွိလွ်င္မေကာင္း။
ပညာရွိသည္ အမ်က္ထြက္တတ္မူမေကာင္း။

A family man who is lazy is not good.
A monk who does not control thought, world and deed in unvirtuous.
An authority who acts wantonly is not good.
A sage, given anger is not good.
အၾကင္အရပ္၌-
ေနာက္လိုက္မရွိ၊ ေခါင္းေဆာင္ခ်ည္းသာမ်ားအံ့။
နာခံသူမရွိ၊ ပညာရွိဆရာ လုပ္လိုသူခ်ည္းသာမ်ားအံ့။
ႏွိမ့္ခ်သူမရွိ၊ အၾကီးအျမတ္ ျဖစ္လိုၾကသူမ်ားသာျဖစ္အံ့။

-ထိုသူတို႕ လုပ္သမွ် ကိစၥအ၀၀ သည္ ပ်က္စီးရတတ္၏။

A place,
Where there are no followers but all are leaders.
Who want to act wise with no listener,
To be great with no one humble is bound to see the ruin of whatever is done.
မင္းအစုိးရမည္သည္ -
တိုင္းျပည္၏ အခြန္အတုတ္ရမရ၊ မ်ိဳးရိကၡာ ျပည့္စံုျခင္းရွိမရွိ ကိုယ္တိုင္သိေအာင္ ျပဳရာ၏.
အမႈထမ္းမ်ား တာ၀န္ေက်ေအာင္ ထမ္းေဆာင္ျခင္း ရွိမရွိကိုလည္း ကိုယ္တိုင္သိေအာင္ျပဳရာ၏။
ႏွိမ့္ခ် အေရးယူထိုက္သူမ်ားကို ႏွိမ့္ခ် အေရးယူ၍ ခ်ီးေျမွာက္စားထုိက္သူမ်ားကို ခ်ီးေျမွာက္စားရာ၏။

Government must be directly in the know-
If revenue is received or not and if seeds and food supplies are sufficient or not.
If those in service are dutiful or not.
If those on whom action must be taken is taken and those worthy of reward are reward.
စစ္ေျမျပင္အရပ္၌ ရဲရင့္သူကို အလိုရွိ၏။
လွိဳ႕၀ွက္ေသာ ကိစၥ၌ ႏႈတ္လံုသူကို အလိုရွိ၏။
စားေကာင္းေသာက္ဖြယ္ စားေသာက္ရခ်ိန္၌ ခ်စ္ခင္သူကို အလိုရွိ၏။
ခက္ခဲနက္နဲေသာ အေရးကိစၥၾကံဳေတြ႕ရခ်ိန္၌ ပညာရွိကို အလိုရွိ၏။
သူယုတ္မာသည္ သူေတာ္ေကာင္းကို ေတြ႕ျမင္လွ်င္ ခ်ဳပ္ခ်ယ္ ညွဥ္းဆဲ ျခင္း ျပဳလို၏။

On the Battlefield the brave are wanted.
In secret matters one who keeps his tongue is wanted.
At a feast , one loved is wanted.
In difficult and profound matters one learned is wanted.
The wicked on seeing the virtuous wants to oppress and persecute him.

အမႈကိစၥဟူသမွ်ကို အလ်င္စလို မျပဳရာ၊ အလ်င္စလို ျပဳခဲ့ေသာ္ ေနာင္မွ ပူပန္ရတတ္၏။
က်ဥ္းေျမာင္း၍ မစင္အတိ ၿပီးေသာ ေနရာ၌ ေနရျခင္းသည္ ဆင္းရဲ၏။
ထို႕ထက္ မခ်စ္မႏွစ္သက္ေသာ သူနွင့္ အတူတကြေနရျခင္းသည္ ပို၍ ဆင္းရဲ၏။
ထိုထက္ သူ႕ေက်းဇူးကို မသိတတ္သူနွင့္ေနရျခင္းက ပို၌ ဆင္းရဲ၏။

Nothing should be done in haste. If it is done hastily one could worry later.
Staying in a narrow place full of faeces is suffering.
More so is staying together with one hated.
Still more so is staying together with the ungrateful.
ဆံုးမသင့္သည္ကို အျမဲ ဆိုဆံုးမရာ၏
ယုတ္မာေသာ အက်င့္ကိုလည္း တားျမစ္ရာ၏
ထိုသုိ႕ ဆံုးမ တားျမစ္တတ္သူကို သူေတာ္ေကာင္းတို႕ ႏွစ္သက္လိုလားၾကာ၏ ။ သူယုတ္မာတို႕ကား မႏွစ္သက္ၾကေခ်။

Always admonish where it is due.
Deter wicked ways.
One who does so is liked by the virtuous, but disliked by the wicked.

အားလံုးကိုခ်စ္ခင္ေလးစားလွ်က္...
ရန္သူကိုျဖစ္ေစ၊ မိတ္ေဆြကိုျဖစ္ေစ အလြန္အမင္း အကြၽမ္းမ၀င္ရာ။
- မိတ္ေဆြပင္ျဖစ္လင့္ကစား အမ်က္ထြက္သည္ရွိေသာ္ သင့္အျပစ္မွန္သမွ်ကို
ထုတ္ေဖာ္ျပတတ္၏။


- One Should not love either enemy or friend too much.
- Even though a friend, when one becomes angry, one may reveal all of
your faults.


- မီးကိုလည္း အၾကြင္းမထားရာ။
- ေၾကြးၿမီကိုလည္း အၾကြင္းမထားရာ။
- ေရာဂါကိုလည္း အၾကြင္းမထားရား
- ထိုသည္တို႕ကား အဖန္တလဲလဲတိုးပြားတတ္သည္ျဖစ္ရာ အၾကြင္းမရွိေအာင္ ျပဳရာ၏။


- Do not leave remnants of fire.
- Do not leave remnants of debt.
- Do not leave remnants disease.
- As those may increase times no remnants should be left.


- မ်က္ႏွာမူကား ပဒုမၼာၾကာ။
- ႏႈတ္ထြက္စကားက စႏၵကူးနံ႕သာ။
- စိတ္ႏွလံုးကား အဆိပ္ပမာ။
- ထိုသုိ႕သေဘာရွိသူကို မေပါင္းအပ္ရာ။


- Whose face is like lotus lily.
- Whose words are as cool as sandal-wood.
- Whose heart is full of poison.
- One should not associate with such a person of that nature.


- ရက္စက္ၾကမ္းၾကဳတ္ေသာ ။
- မနာလို၀န္တိုေသာ။
- မခ်ီးေျမွာက္မေထာက္ပံ့တတ္ေသာ။
- ဖိႏွိပ္ခ်ဳပ္ခ်ယ္ေသာ အရွင္သခင္မ်ိဳးကို လုပ္ေကြၽးမွီခိုျခင္း မျပဳရာ။


- Who is severe.
- Who is niggardly.
- Who is uncharitable.
- Who is oppressive, One should not serve and rely on such a master.



အားလံုးကိုခ်စ္ခင္ေလးစားလွ်က္...
ႏွစ္လင္သံုးလင္ေျပာင္းေသာ မိန္းမ၊
ႏွစ္ေက်ာင္းသံုးေက်ာင္းေျပာင္းေသာ ရဟန္း၊
ႏွစ္ၾကိမ္သံုးၾကိမ္ ေက်ာ့ကြင္းမွ လြတ္ဖူးေသာငွက္၊
ဤသူတို႕ကား မာယာမ်ားတတ္၏။
The woman , who changes two or three husbands,
The priest, who changes tow or three monasteries,
The bird which escapes from traps twice or thrice,
These may have many deceits.
ဆိုးသြမ္းယုတ္မာသူကို ရိုက္ပုတ္ဒဏ္ခတ္ျခင္းျဖင့္ ယဥ္ပါးေစႏိုင္၏။
မေကာင္းေသာ အေဆြခင္ပြန္းကို အဆက္အဆံ မျပဳလုပ္ဘဲေနျခင္းျဖင့္ ယဥ္ပါးေစႏိုင္၏။
မေကာင္းေသာ မားကို ေငြေၾကးဥစၥာမအပ္ႏွင္းျခင္းျဖင့္ ယဥ္ပါးေစႏိုင္၏။
အစားအစာ တပ္မက္လြန္က်ဴးသူကို အစားေလွ်ာ့၍ ေကြၽးျခင္းျဖင့္ ယဥ္ပါးေစႏိုင္၏။

The wicked may be tamed by beating,
The bad friend by quitting,
The bad wife by not giving wealth,
The greedy by reduction of food.

လေရာင္မွ ကင္းေသာ ညသည္ မတင့္တယ္။
လႈိင္းတံပိုးမွ ကင္းေသာ သမုဒၵရာသည္ မတင့္တယ္။
ဟသၤာမွ ကင္းေသာ ေရကန္သည္ မတင့္တယ္။
လင္မွကင္းေသာ သတို႕သမီးသည္ မတင့္တယ္။

The night without moon is disgraceful.
The ocean without waves is disgraceful.
The pond without ducks (Hamza) is disgraceful.
The maiden without husband is disgraceful.


အားလံုးကိုခ်စ္ခင္ေလးစားလွ်က္...
